The spring and summer of 2020 brought with them an opportunity to take the time to explore. Not in the world outwardly, but in my immediate environment, and in myself. The thing closest and most precious to me was the forest, and so many of my creations came from it.
Pine needle baskets
The time, patience and concentration needed to create pine needle baskets is astounding. This newly-discovered passion is still being explored!
A first effort at embroidery. Similar to painting in a way, but with thread on fabric. A unique craft I wish to use to express new creative ideas. Eventually, I plan to dye my own thread to embroider with all home-made materials.
Spoon carving
Combining practical and ornamental, I wish to create spoons that can be used but also admired as a work of art.
