LAND ART
Land art is created by sculpting the land itself, the Earth and its’ elements. Only using what is offered by Mother Earth, and nothing more. An ephemerial art form where every creation evolves with the seasons, the weather, the temperature. Some works of art last a day, some months and even years. From the most detailed design with leaves on the soft soil, to a sturdy and prominent structure made with branches, trees and bark.

Land art gives me the opportunity to piece together the elements of creation, movement, and nature, which offer an invigorating and inspiring environment for me to thrive, as an artist and as a human being.

'ART SAUVAGE'
Inspiration
The nest, the caretaking offered by a mother (Earth), being welcomed in the core of the world, protected from danger, pain, the weight of the world.
Interpretation
The renewal, the rebirth of nature in a world that had abandonned it. The flowers planted at the center of the nest are called immortal flowers in French. These represent natures’ immortality and the ephemerality of us human beings and everything we create and construct. In a way, the certainty that nature will endure and persist long after we’re gone brings comfort and reassurance.
August 2020, in St-Isidore-de-Clifton, 10 artists gathered at the ‘Jardins de Victoria’ for 4 days, to create with only what nature offered them. An artist residency unlike any other, giving the artists the opportunity to discover themselves through their connection with their environment.
